Benjamin Booth Mitchell

Benjamin Booth Mitchell, age 98 of Wilmington Delaware, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 23, 2018 after living five years at The Country House on the Kennett Pike in Greenville.

Ben graduated from Wilmington High School, Goldey Beacom College, and the University of Pennsylvania Wharton School of Business. He worked for the DuPont Company for over 40 years and also the Delmar News Agency.

He was a founding member of the Wilmington Opera Society, an active member of Concord Presbyterian Church, and numerous other community organizations.

Ben was married for 60 years to the late Claire Mitchell, who passed in 2007. He is survived by his three children, Fran Rondeau, Wayne Mitchell, and Pam Bjerknes as well as four grandchildren, and one great granddaughter, his sister Esther Arcaro, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, July 28, 2018 at 1:00 PM in the chapel of The Country House, 4830 Kennett Pike, Greenville, DE 19807.
