With hearts full of sorrow, we announce the peaceful passing of Usha Karnik on November 20, 2025. She entered eternal rest in the comfort of her home with family. Throughout her life journey she was the epitome of grace and a heart open to all, deriving her remarkable strength with steadfast devotion and unwavering faith.
Born in Karachi, Pakistan (pre-Independence) in a family of 6 brothers and 3 sisters, she grew up as a nurturer and later found her vocation as an educator. After 20 plus years of service to her students at Udayachal Schools in Mumbai, India, she immigrated to the US with her husband and son in 1989. She enjoyed and embraced American culture and held her roots and traditions close to her heart.
She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend to many, family was her joy and she poured her heart into each of those roles.
Usha is survived by her children, Madhura (Tushar) and Neil (Manasi); grandchildren, Prachi, Aditya, Sayuri and Sana; her brothers, Ashok (Shaila) and Suresh and sister, Nisha (Vijay); as well as numerous loving nieces, nephews and host of friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Madhav Karnik.
Usha’s legacy of faith, love and service will live on through all those who knew her.
Family and friends can pay their last respects and participate in prayers on Wednesday, November 26, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Chandler Funeral Home, 7230 Lancaster Pike Hockessin, DE 19707.
Immediately following the funeral, we would like to gather at our home to share memories and celebrate her life.
