Linda Steinacker passed away on Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at Neighborhood Hospice in West Chester, Pennsylvania after a long and valiant fight with breast cancer and mesothelioma.
Linda was predeceased by her parents, William and Audrey Howen. She is survived by her husband of almost 40 years, Warren Steinacker; his daughters including Elaine (Sidney), Cynthia (Henry), and Sharon; her cousins Diane Butler, Bob Swanton, and Michael Swanton; and her aunt, Dee Swanton. Lynn is also survived by five grandchildren (Benjamin, Abigail, Julian, Sydney, and Averi) and four great grandchildren (Max, Gavin, Molly, and Logan), and her special kitty, Tiger.
Linda grew up in Bound Brook, NJ and received her undergraduate degree from Drexel University in PA and her MS degree in Counseling from Fairfield University in CT. She taught Home Economics in Milford, CT at Jonathan Law High School and Forehan High School. Upon marrying Warren, they settled in East Fallowfield, PA in 1979 and remained until spring of 2014 when they relocated to Maris Grove in Glen Mills, PA. While in East Fallowfield, Linda worked as a long term substitute teacher in the Coatesville area schools. This flexibility allowed Warren and her to travel. Their trips took them to many areas of the United States including Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, and Wyoming, and outside the states to Australia, Tazmania, Canada, and Mexico. Linda also enjoyed working at QVC in West Chester, PA as a tour guide and in the gift shop.
Linda’s many interests have included traveling, cooking, gardening, participation in the American Wine Society, and spending time with her wonderful grandchildren. Linda will be remembered as a loving grandmother to all of her grandchildren, a loyal wife to Warren, and a special friend to her husband’s daughters. She will also be desperately missed by her kitty,Tiger.
The family would like to thank all of the many drivers, caregivers, nurses, and doctors that have helped and cared for Linda during her difficult days in the hospital, at home, and at Neighborhood Hospice. Without their guidance and nurturing, this journey would have been far more difficult.
In lieu of flowers, Linda would be honored to have donations sent to Faithful Friends Animal Society, 12 Germay Drive, Wilmington, DE 19804.
