Ottavia Caponi

Ottavia Caponi, 78, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, in Wilmington, Delaware.

Born in Luco Dei Marsi, Italy, to Biagio Ciaffone and Marianna Garbuglia, Ottavia was the third of four children. In Italy, she met and married the love of her life, the late Anthony Caponi. Together they built their home in Elkton, Maryland, where they shared 51 years of marriage.

After coming to America, Ottavia carried with her a deep respect and love for family and tradition. She had a kind and friendly personality that touched everyone she met.

Ottavia was a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker, as well as a talented seamstress whose creativity and eye for beauty enriched every part of her life. Known for her excellent taste, warmth, and generosity, she found joy in cooking, sewing, and creating a welcoming home. Above all, she cherished her role as mother to her daughter, Claudia, and as a caring daughter, sister, and friend.

All who knew Ottavia will remember her beautiful spirit and the love she shared so freely. She will be deeply missed, yet her presence lives on in the hearts of those who were blessed to know her.
