Theresa Zynel Kelly

Theresa Zynel Kelly, 90, of Newark, died peacefully at home on Sunday, January 21, 2018 and is now reunited with her beloved husband of 67years.

Theresa grew up in Shenandoah, PA, married her sweetheart Tom, before moving to Delaware where she eventually settled in Newark to raise her family. She was a devoted wife and dedicated her life to her 5 children. Theresa’s pride and joy was her family. She enjoyed traveling, trips to the beach, cruises, ceramics, crocheting, and playing bingo & cards with her friends. She was a member of the Newark Senior Center and a founding member of the Holy Family Parish.

Theresa was predeceased by her parents Joseph and Elizabeth Zynel of Shenandoah, PA, brothers Victor, Edward, and Vincent Zynel and sister Genevieve Gilpin. She will be dearly missed by her sisters Josephine Yanchulis of Elkton and Mary Savitsky of Westfield, IN, daughter, Karen Kelly of Newark, 4 sons, Thomas(Connie) of Newark, Joseph(Judy) of Elkton, James (Pat) of Townsend, Michael(Brooke) of Newark. Theresa was a loving grandmother and adored her 11 grandchildren Mark, Chrissy, Brenda(Frank), Melissa(Eric), Stacy(Joe), Danielle(Tom), Shawn, Joe, Michael, Hayden and Caroline. She was also blessed with 12 great grandchildren.

The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to Dawn, Ashley and Julia of Seasons Hospice for their excellent care, and to caregivers Debbie Zimath, Patty Raynor, and Ottie Podman, for treating our mother with the dignity and respect she so deserved.

Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 12 noon at Holy Family Church, 15 Gender Road, Newark, DE 19713 on Wednesday, January 31^st. Friends and family may visit at the church from 11:00 am to 12 noon. Burial will be held at 2:00 pm at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Bear, DE.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to either Holy Family Parish or Seasons Hospice, 220 Continental Drive, Suite 101, Newark, DE 19713.
