Charles (Charlie, “Mugs”) Henry Moloney, Jr. passed away peacefully on June 15, 2025, surrounded by love and carried into the arms of the angels. Born in June of 1949, to Charles Henry Moloney, Sr. and Claire Marie Moloney, Charlie lived a life defined by faith, kindness, and unwavering devotion to his family. He is survived by his beloved wife, Donna Moloney, his children Carolyn Moloney, Laura Moloney, James Moloney (Jessica Peel), and Catherine Carnovale (Marco Carnovale), and his siblings Elizabeth Slater (Tom Slater), Kathleen Leahy (Hugh Leahy), Thomas Moloney (Donna Moloney), and Andrew Moloney.
A lifelong Catholic, Charlie exemplified Christ not only in word, but in his consistent grace. His faith was the foundation of his life and his greatest gift to others. With boundless patience, empathy, generosity, and humility, Charlie offered himself freely to his family, friends, and community.
In addition to his grace and compassion, he had a wild sense of humor paired with unbeatable wit. He had a song lyric on-hand that applied to any situation in life, and a joke that could light up a room. People flocked to him for of his magnetic charisma. Anyone who knew him would have a hard time saying “Charlie Moloney” without a smile.
It is especially symbolic that Charlie departed this world on Father’s Day—a day that symbolizes everything he was. He was a devoted husband, a selfless and loving father, and an involved uncle whose wisdom was matched only by his ability to listen deeply and wholeheartedly. Though he offered thoughtful advice, it was his presence, understanding, and open heart that made him a guiding light to those around him.
Charlie’s life was a testament to what it means to love loudly and live faithfully. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
