Eugene Edward Higgins, Jr.

Eugene Edward Higgins, Jr., 72, died at home on December 16, 2017.

He formerly lived in Delaware County and King of Prussia. Eugene was a graduate of Monsignor Bonner HS in Drexel Hill and attended St. Joseph’s University in Philadelphia. He worked in the banking, computer, customer service and retail industries and was a member of the First City Troop.

Eugene was an avid sports fan, both college and professional, especially when it came to the Phillies, Eagles and Flyers. He spent his vacations sometimes cooking and serving at the Ronald McDonald House and other times working with Habitat for Humanity repairing and rebuilding houses for those less fortunate than him. He was a Friend of Bill’s for 32 years.

He is predeceased by his parents, Eugene Sr. and Helen (McBride) and sister Sally. Survivors include his sons, Gene III and Patrick Shamus, and sister Margaret Mary with whom he lived.

A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Mary Magdalen Church, 7 Sharpley Road, Wilmington at 11:00 am on Saturday January 13, 2018 where friends may call from 10:00 to 11:00 am.
