Condolences

Nancy Aldrich lit a candle and writes,
Helen will be greatly missed by her family and her generosity and good deeds for others will never be forgotten. She lived a good life and was a role model to me. She invented "give back to your community" long before it became in fashion. I value all the times we spent together. May she rest in peace.

Bebe was 28 when I was born to one of a group of 5 girl "cousins" who had all grown up together and been very close. She was always kind and thoughtful to all in my generation. She used to send me memberships to the National Wildlife Federation, and sometimes these cool sticker books where you pasted in pictures of animals, in their wildlife setting. She also sponsored a child through an organization like "Save the Children," in my name, when I was probably under 12 years of age. This meant so much to me - the little girl was my same age. I believe that Bebe thus opened my eyes to both the natural world and the needs of our fellow human beings. She truly had an impact on me during my formative years. I will always cherish her memory, and the things that she taught by example. She loved gardening and birds, and loved her volunteer work, after her retirement. A marvelous person who will be dearly missed in many quarters! God bless her and grant deep peace to her in the afterlife.

    Darelle Riabov writes,
Helen will forever be a part of my life. Through her caring efforts and love of the Goodstay Gardens, I am now able to visit and be reminded of my wedding held there in 1983. She helped me place a garden bench in the woods as a surprise for my husband on our 20th anniversary. Then, she arranged for me to have a tree dedicated in memory of my mother in 2007. Going to the Garden always soothes my soul and now will remind me of the kind, gentle, spirit who made all those special moments possible. Helen was an exceptional lady who always helped others first. I will miss you, Helen. I am sad there will be no formal service, but reading the condolences of others who loved her is comforting at this time of such a poignant loss.

Helen was an extraordinary person; generous, kind, and gracious. She inspired me, and I'm sure many others, with her love and devotion to gardening. I will always cherish my opportunity to work with her at Goodstay. The world is a more beautiful place for her presence.

Helen was a thoughtful, considerate and generous person who lived life to the fullest. She and my mother, Lorene Southworth met at Wharton where they were the first two women to receive their MBA’s. It was the start of a lifelong friendship. What wonderful role models they were. May Helen Rest In Peace- she will be missed.

Br. Ronald Giannone, OFM Cap. writes,
To the friends of Helen Eliason from the Ministry of Caring 'family'. Helen was a faithful and caring friend of the Ministry of Caring and our work among the poor. We were saddened to learn of her death and will remember her in our prayers. Revelation 14:13 And I heard a voice from heaven saying, “Write this: Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on.” “Blessed indeed,” says the Spirit, “that they may rest from their labors, for their deeds follow them!”
