Priscilla E. Palermo

Priscilla Elise Palermo, age 91, passed away peacefully Sunday, February 9th, 2025 at Accent Care Inpatient Hospice Center, located in the Wilmington Hospital, while her daughter held her hand and her son said goodbye over the phone. Born in 1933 in Augusta, Maine, she was the daughter of William F. Pullen and Elise (Lewia) Pullen.

Priscilla was a stay at home mom to 3 children until they were mid-late teenagers. She then worked at Jacobs & Crumpler PA as a secretary. She enjoyed her job very much until her husband, John, retired, prompting her decision to retire as well. Her favorite pastime was shopping! She loved to dress up, even in her later years while living at Harbor Chase Assisted Living in Wilmington. She received many compliments for her attire.

Priscilla is survived by her two children, Steven J. Palermo and wife Kathleen M. Palermo, and Janice P. Shreve and husband Donald E. Shreve, and grandson Dylan D. Shreve. She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, John L. Palermo in 2020, and her son David A. Palermo in 1980.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, February 18, 2025 at 12:00 pm at Chester Bethel Cemetery. A luncheon will follow.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to Accent Care Inpatient Hospice Center – Christiana Care Hospital – Wilmington (https://seasonsfoundation.org/donate/) in Priscilla’s memory.

Condolences

    Valerie Blake writes,
I was looking online for some genealogy information and ran across Auntie Pep's obituary. I'm late but I still wanted to offer my condolences to your family. I'm so glad that she and my mom became close again before Mom died at 92 in 2015. They both had such long lives. One of my fondest memories of your mom and dad was a dinner theater show of Once Upon a Mattress with Carol Burnett about 60 years ago. I can still see us all sitting around the table.
