Patricia T. Kish

Patricia Ann Tobin Kish, age 79, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Thursday October 12, 2017 at Christiana Hospital.

Born in Louisiana in 1938, Pat was the oldest daughter of Edward and Esther Tobin. For the majority of her life, she resided in Old New Castle, Delaware where she was a graduate of St. Peter’s Elementary School and High School.

Upon graduation, Pat began working in the personnel department at the DuPont Company. She became a homemaker after the birth of her daughter Diana. Pat eventually returned to the work force and was employed by the City of New Castle Police Department and later in the purchasing department at The Shaw Company. Upon her retirement, Pat worked part-time at Sears in Prices Corner as a curtain sales consultant until 1998 when she officially retired.

Pat enjoyed needlepoint, watching late night television and most importantly “a good garage sale.” She and her friends spent many Saturday mornings driving through various neighborhoods looking for “treasures.” It provided great fun and friendship for years.

Pat’s greatest joys were her daughter and three grandchildren. She was a very loving and devoted mother and grandmother. Her entire world revolved around her grandchildren, and they truly adored her. She will be greatly missed by them all.

She is survived by her daughter Diana Pinkerton and husband Jon; granddaughter Jennifer Williams and husband Scott; grandsons Jason Newman and Alexander “AJ” Pinkerton; sister Kathleen Hilberg; niece Paige Hilberg; and nephews Lt. Col. Erik Hilberg and Bart Hilberg.

The family wishes to thank Pat’s aide, Christine Gamble, and the 3E MICU staff of Christiana Hospital for their care and understanding.
