Lucille Protack

Lucille Protack, age 87 of New Castle, Delaware, passed away on Monday, January 02, 2017 at the Delaware Veterans Home in Milford, Delaware after a twelve-year struggle with Dementia and numerous chronic illnesses.

Lucille was the daughter of the late Frank Forrest and Pearl Dodson Forrest. Her humble beginnings in Monticello, Arkansas gave way to service in the US Navy, raising a strong family and 49 years of marriage to her late husband Stephen who passed away January 2, 2004.

Though weak at the end, Lucille throughout her life was an indomitable spirit and protector of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren who were the greatest source of happiness to her. Lucille was loving, caring and always the glue that held her family together facing any challenge with a gentle firmness few possess.

Those who will miss her are her loving sister Sue Cattles of Laramie, WY; Lucille’s four children, Stephen Jr. of Virginia, Michael and his wife Mary Ann of Yorklyn, DE, Kenny and his wife Kim of Bear, DE and Suzanne Pinder and her husband Pat of Huntersville, NC; six grandchildren, Clinton Protack MD/PhD and his wife Tricia of Branford, CT, Brian Pinder of Huntersville, NC, Stephen Pinder of Charlotte, NC, Kevin Protack of Yorklyn, DE, Kyle Protack of Baltimore, MD and Kayla Protack of Bear, DE; and two great grandchildren Andrew and Alison Protack of Branford, CT.
