Peggy Duncan, 84, passed away on Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at the Country House, Wilmington, DE where she had lived for 16 years with two of her grandnieces by her side.
Peggy was born and raised in Rising Sun, MD, one of eight children of the late Edgar and Effie Duncan. After graduating from high school, she moved to Wilmington, DE and began her career with Bell Telephone Company. She was promoted and ultimately worked in Philadelphia, PA at the headquarters of the regional Bell office as executive assistant to the President. At the time of her retirement she was assistant to the Corporate Secretary of AT&T in Philadelphia. She never married, caring for her mother and devoting herself to her career and her friends. She enjoyed traveling to various islands, Hawaii and Mexico. She loved watching sports, particularly when the Philadelphia teams were winning.
Peggy is predeceased by her siblings, Bernice Adams of Jefferson, NC, Helen Wardell and Margaret Martin of Wilmington, DE, Edward Duncan of Indianapolis, IN, Willard Duncan of Lewis, DE, Carlos Duncan and Juanita Stemple of Rising Sun, MD. She is survived by her nieces Shirley (Sammy) Church of Jefferson, NC, Jerry (Joanne) King of Middletown, DE, Bobby (Linda) King of North East, MD, Bill Wardell (Sally Byron) of Burlington, NC, Lorraine Martin (Joe Quimby) of Meredith, NH, Linda Martin Barber (Frank Witgen) of Chautauqua, NY, Arlinda (Scott) Rollins of Mooresville, IN, and Clint (Brenda) Duncan of Zionsville, IN.
