Betty Lee Singer Faulds

Betty Lee Singer Faulds of West Grove, Pennsylvania died peacefully in her sleep on March 25, 2023, at the age of 94.

Born in Brownsville, Texas in 1928, she was the daughter of Blanche Naomi Morgan Singer and Grover Clarence Singer. Betty graduated from Brownsville High School before earning degrees in history and fine art from the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque. After Betty graduated in 1950, and several years after a blind date with Stanley Camp Faulds, the couple married in Albuquerque then settled in Jacksonville, FL. They were married for 69 years until Stan’s death in 2019.

When Stanley was hired by the DuPont Company, the Faulds moved to Wilmington, Delaware, the first of many transfers that took them to: Aiken, SC; Landenberg, PA; Red Bank, NJ; Wilmington, DE; Nashville, TN; and finally, back to Wilmington in 1962. All the homes and gardens along the way were beautifully filled with her creations.

Everyone loved Betty. She was a fine artist, builder of stone walls, furniture restorer, interior designer, chef, seamstress, rug maker, and passionate gardener – all talents she mastered to fulfill her vast imagination. She was always working on one of her projects, each completed on a frugal budget while faithfully breaking for her beloved afternoon nap. An avid reader and devoted wife and mother, Betty’s playful sense of humor and wisdom will be dearly missed by her friends and children: Jill Morgan Faulds Pike of Rockport, MA; Ann Merritt Faulds and her husband Christopher Robinson of Avondale, PA; and Thomas Camp Faulds and his daughters Emily and Haley of Rockport, MA. Betty was predeceased by her brother and sisters Madge, George, and Virginia. A private memorial is planned, and the family encourages contributions to a favorite charity.
