That is why we often recommend that time be set aside for a viewing. This final chance to say goodbye can be very healing emotionally. A viewing brings closure, helps people accept that death has occurred, and provides a means to make a connection between the last time the person was seen alive and the fact of the death.

Depending upon personal preferences, viewings can be either public or private, even if cremation is to occur. This provides a gathering of supportive friends, a truly meaningful remembrance, and a sense of connection with those we hold most dear.
